Department of Women

District Missionary: Evangelist Betty McMullan

The COGIC Department of Women was established in 1911, four years after the incorporation of the Church of God in Christ, Inc.  COGIC Founder, Bishop Charles H. Mason appointed Mother Lizzie Woods as the overseer and organizer of the Women's Department.

An official COGIC handbook (revised 2002) outlines the general auxiliaries and units along with the history, doctrine and traditional teachings.  The first auxiliary to be formed was Prayer and Bible Band and many other groups followed. The Department of Women ministries that are active in the district will be listed individually under the ministries tab.

The lead of the Department of Women in the District is the District Missionary.  For WE Sheard Memorial District, the District Missionary is Evangelist Betty McMullan. Click here for more information on District Missionary Evangelist Betty McMullan.

The Department of Women handbook is available on online at the COGIC website.
